Passover is a weeklong Jewish holiday commemorating the Israelites’ exodus from Egypt and their deliverance from slavery. Every spring, at the first full moon after the vernal equinox, Jews from around the world gather to remember their ancestors’ liberation and the hardships they endured. The holiday is marked by festive foods, songs and other customs that reinforce the historical significance of Passover.
During the Seder, the story of Passover is told from a Jewish book called the “Haggadah,” and on the table is the Seder Plate, which contains foods symbolizing the slavery of the Jews in Egypt. The most important aspect of Passover is the celebration of freedom.
The Passover story is a universal one of struggle and freedom and hope for the time when right will conquer might and all people will live in trust and peace.
We hope you will join with us in this centuries old tradition celebrating life, freedom and the continuing struggle people all over the world face everyday for liberty and justice.
Your donation of $20.00 covers the cost of food for the Seder.
