A Letter of Welcome from our Spiritual Director, Reverend Nancy Ballinger
Welcome, to AWAKENING, a divine idea that is unfolding on the Central Coast of California.
As we enter out 10th year of ministry, AWAKENING Interfaith Spiritual Community continues to be a place of healing, growing, and actively experiencing the truth of the Divine within.
Through the teachings of Kriya Yoga we come to more fully awaken to the essential truth of who and what we are as manifestations of the One Truth known by many names.
Like waves on the ocean are the same as the sea, so are all beings one with each other and our Source. We come and go like the waves always, ultimately, returning to wholeness and union. This is the mystery at the heart of the spiritual quest, that which calls us to become knowers of the truth of God and of ourselves.

One Song
What is praised is one, so the praise is one too,
many jugs being poured
into a huge basin.
All religions, all this singing,
one song.
The differences are just illusion and vanity.
Sunlight
looks slightly different
on this wall than it does on that wall and a lot different
on this other one, but
it is still one light.
We have borrowed these clothes,
these time-and-space personalities
from a light,
and when we praise,
we pour them back in.
